Position Responsibilities

This position is within the Patrol Division. Work involves the following responsibilities: provide a variety of law enforcement services, to include patrolling assigned areas; enforcing laws and ordinances; investigating criminal activity; gathering evidence; apprehending violators; maintaining public order, protecting life and property and assisting the public. Work is performed under direct supervision of the Police Lieutenants and general supervision of superior department personnel.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

The Hobart-Lawrence Police Department is seeking individuals with Wisconsin Law Enforcement experience at the municipal, county, or state level to join our team as part of our lateral transfer program. Individuals with qualifying law enforcement experience will receive year-for-year credit with placement on the salary scale (up to year five) and increased vacation.

  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • Good driving record
  • Good physical condition
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • U.S. citizen
