The Sheboygan Police Department uses continuous recruitment for the position of Police Officer. The Sheboygan Police Department is a progressive police agency that uses a Community-Oriented, Neighborhood-Based police strategy. Lateral Transfer Program Details:
Now accepting lateral transfers – new hires can receive up to 5 years of credit for prior police experience for both pay and vacation steps, depending on experience.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No felony convictions
