Position Responsibilities

Police Officers for the City of Merrill are responsible for the protection of life and property, crime prevention and detection, enforcement of laws and ordinances, investigation of crimes, investigation of traffic accidents and traffic control, apprehension of those who violate laws, maintenance of order in the community as well as providing general assistance and services to the public.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

Officers granted lateral transfer benefits may be eligible to receive credit for up to 7 years of similar experience. This applies to pay grade and vacation benefits only.
