Lateral Transfer applications are being accepted in an ongoing hiring process to establish a continuing eligibility list. We are only accepting applications for lateral transfers at this time.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:
LATERAL TRANSFERS The Village of Pleasant Prairie accepts lateral transfers that are currently employed, full-time, as a certified Law Enforcement Officer with a government recognized law enforcement agency. Corrections, reserve officer, security officer, and federal officer experience does not fulfill the requirement for certified police experience as a lateral applicant. Officers may be hired under the lateral transfer agreement at the discretion of the Chief of Police and the Village of Pleasant Prairie. Out-of-state applicants will be required to have passed a Reciprocity Equivalency exam administered by the State of Wisconsin and be certifiable according to those standards by date of appointment.”

- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously

- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification

- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
