Responsibilities:
The Clinton Police Department is seeking motivated, community-focused individuals to join our team of full-time Police Officers. Eligible candidates must be at least 21 years of age and be certified or certifiable in the State of Wisconsin. This position is responsible for performing a variety of law enforcement duties including but not limited to the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances, preventing, detecting, and investigating crimes, maintaining law and order, patrolling and enforcing traffic regulations, generating reports, and testifying in court. Lateral Transfer Program Details:
Lateral transfer starting salary and vacation time adjustments are available for candidates with prior full time sworn officer experience. The State Reciprocity Exam is available for certification of out of state sworn officers. Department Police Academy sponsorship for non-certified candidates is available. Tuition reimbursement for certifiable candidates who self-funded Recruit School is available upon successful completion of the probationary period.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- No domestic abuse convictions
