Responsibilities:
Position Responsibilities
Uniformed patrol officer responsibilities. Proactive patrol, respond to calls for service, traffic enforcement, investigations, follow up, report writing, testifying in court, etc.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
Applicants with prior/existing FULL TIME experience can be accelerated through pay and time off scale based on experience, at the discretion of the Chief of Police.

Qualifications
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition

- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions

- Residency within 30 miles of city required within 6 months after completion of the 1 year probationary period.
- The department is in the initial phases of starting a 1:1 assigned squad program with eventual goal of take home squads.
- The city has recently purchased land with the intent to build a new public safety building in the next few years.
