Responsibilities:
This position is second in command to the Sheriff and the administrative personnel officer for the department. It directs routine operations of the department and ensures accurate records of activities are maintained; all matters, civil and criminal where juveniles or adults are involved. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Maintains liaison with the Sheriff regarding operations in the Sheriff’s Office. 2. Maintains liaison with other Waushara County departments regarding items of mutual interest, concern and responsibility. 3. Ensures that all training is conducted and documented to assure compliance with regulations. 4. Ensures that all members of the department know how and do conduct themselves properly.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record

- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- Previous experience
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- Supervisory/Management Experience
- U.S. citizen
