Responsibilities:
The following duties are illustrative, and the person holding this position may be required to perform other duties of a similar nature or otherwise related to the position. 1. Report crime scenes and ensure necessary reports are completed. 2. Collect physical evidence at crime scenes; locate and question witnesses; evaluate evidence; take notes; make arrests. 3. Conduct searches and surveillance work. 4. Investigate complaints and respond to emergencies requiring the presence of a law enforcement officer. 5. Advise patrol officers in matters of criminal activity. 6. Operate law enforcement vehicles and related police equipment. 7. Cooperate with other county, city, state and federal authorities in investigations and apprehension of criminals. 8. Take photographs and lift latent fingerprints. 9. Provide information and direction to the public. 10. Performs related duties as may be required or assigned.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- Previous experience
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- U.S. citizen
- 1. High school diploma or its equivalent. 60 college credits or an advanced degree in Criminal Justice related field preferred. 2. Current Wisconsin law enforcement certification with five to seven years of law enforcement experience. 3. Knowledge of law
