The Milton Police Department is hiring for patrol sergeant. If you have the experience, a desire to lead, and are looking to make a move to a great agency, now is your chance! We are seeking a patrol sergeant for the 6:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. shift with a promotion opportunity after one year of hire. Qualified applicants must possess an Associate's Degree, at least three (3) years of law enforcement experience and be eligible for WI LESB certification. Anticipated start date would be December 8, 2025.

Responsibilities:
The sergeant is a working, first level uniformed supervisor. The sergeant works a 5/2-5/3 rotation. The sergeant is responsible for calls for service, patrol, traffic enforcement, investigations, and other duties as assigned. The sergeant is supervised by the Chief of Police. Primary responsibilities include: 1. Direct supervision over 2nd and 3rd shift patrol officers. 2. Assist the Chief of Police with planning and policy implementation. 3. Conduct performance evaluations and improvement plans for staff. 4. Respond to public inquiries and complaints regarding police practices and actions; insures that proper follow up promptly occurs. 5. Assist the Accreditation Manager to meet compliance with WILEAG accreditations standards. 6. Work with department administration in investigation of citizen complaints or internal affairs investigations. 7. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of the patrol officer schedule. 8. - Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
