Responsibilities:
This position is within the Patrol Division. Work involves the following responsibilities: provide a variety of law enforcement services, to include patrolling assigned areas; enforcing laws and ordinances; investigating criminal activity; gathering evidence; apprehending violators; maintaining public order, protecting life and property and assisting the public. Work is performed under direct supervision of the Police Lieutenants and general supervision of superior department personnel. Patrol officers work a Pitman 2/2/3 rotating schedule, 12-hour shifts, for a total of 2,184 hours per year.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
LATERAL TRANSFER PROGRAM The Hobart-Lawrence Police Department is seeking individuals with Wisconsin Law Enforcement experience at the municipal, county, or state level to join our team as part of our lateral transfer program. Individuals with qualifying law enforcement experience will receive year-for-year credit with placement on the salary scale (up to year three) and increased vacation.

- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
