The Town of Washington Police Department is accepting applications to fill a vacancy and establish an eligibility list for the Full-Time Police Officer. Serve where others vacation. Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure community through professional law enforcement services, including but not limited to:
• Patrol and respond to calls for service
• Community policing and public outreach
• Working collaboratively with the local school
• Crime prevention and problem-solving initiatives
• Conducting criminal and traffic investigations
• Enforcing Wisconsin state laws and local ordinances
• Effectively communicating with the public and resolving conflicts
• Preparing and completing accurate reports and official records
• Testifying in court as required

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- Previous experience
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- Supervisory/Management Experience
- U.S. citizen
- Vision correctable to 20/20
