Position Responsibilities

Deputy Sheriff performs all the duties of a sworn law enforcement officer as designated by suprervisory staff. Mainatins protection of life and property and the enforcement of criminal federal and state laws and County ordinances throughout Price County. This position involves the prevention and detention of adult and juvenile crime, apprehension of criminal offenders, and traffic monitoring and enfrocement. Other duties include providing assistance to the public, other criminal justice, communications, corrections, and emergency service agencies.

  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • Good driving record
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
  • U.S. citizen
