Responsibilities:
The Capitol Police Officer position performs all security and law enforcement functions on the assigned shift at DOA owned and leased facilities. This position provides law enforcement services to the citizens of the State of Wisconsin. This position determines appropriate law enforcement actions to be taken; applying and interpreting the State of Wisconsin and Federal statutes; working with people from diverse backgrounds; recording and preserving evidence, enforcing parking statutes; providing first aid including CPR, and conducting patrols.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- U.S. citizen
- Vision correctable to 20/20
- Minimum Age:
Minimum Age18
- Qualified applicants will currently be certified as a law enforcement officer by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board (LESB), or eligible for certification within 30 days of application, or currently enrolled in a 720-hour Law Enforcement Academy
