Responsibilities:
• Supervising daily patrol operations and supporting officer safety, accountability, and professional standards. • Coordinating staffing, scheduling, shift coverage, special event coverage, and emergency coverage as needed. • Providing direction on complex calls, critical incidents, and operational concerns. • Reviewing reports for accuracy, completeness, follow-up, and legal sufficiency. • Assisting with recruitment, hiring, onboarding, field training, and continued training coordination. • Supporting employee performance through coaching, documentation, and corrective action consistent with City policy, department procedures, and applicable law. • Assisting the Chief of Police with policy implementation, operational planning, and budget or expenditure tracking as assigned. • Maintaining strong working relationships with City staff, partner agencies, community members, and the public. • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- Previous experience
