Reason for Announcement:
Responsibilities:
Preventative patrol, traffic enforcement, emergency and non-emergency calls for service, and investigations containing criminal matters. The department is a comprehensive, 24-hour police agency that embraces community-oriented policing and neighborhood problem-solving. Specialized roles within the department include, but are not limited to, the K9 unit, drone program, bike patrol (including eBikes), firearms instructor, evidence technician, detective, emergency vehicle operations instructor, defense and arrest tactics instructor, field training officer, community service officer, and school resource officer.

Note: Accelerated hiring process for experienced law enforcement officers! Those currently serving in a similar capacity at another agency may apply by submitting a cover letter and resume directly to police@veronawi.gov. Our competitive salary and benefits package includes flexibility for the Chief to assign a starting step based on the officer's prior experience: one (1) year, three (3) years, five (5) years, or seven (7) years of seniority. Qualified lateral transfers may also receive up to two weeks of sick leave, depending on their years of experience.
