Responsibilities:
The Patrol Officer is directly accountable to the Patrol Sergeant and ensures the constitutional rights of all citizens. They will impartially enforce State of Wisconsin laws and the City of Burlington ordinances. The Patrol Officer carries out departmental functions primary to the prevention of criminal activity and providing day to day police services to the community.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
Laterally hired officers may receive a starting annual salary and vacation commensurate with their years of experience as a sworn law enforcement officer. Lateral hires are not required to take the POST Exam.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- U.S. citizen
