Ashwaubenon Public Safety is hiring for the position of Public Safety Officer. Be a part of a vibrant and fast paced community to include Green Bay Packer gamedays, Resch Center events, and the Holmgren Way entertainment area to name a few. This is a cross-trained position that will provide police, fire, and EMS services to the Village of Ashwaubenon. No experience in any of the three disciplines are necessary to apply, but preference will be given to current certified law enforcement officers, or those currently enrolled in a law enforcement program/academy New officers will work a police only schedule with 6 days on/3 days off night patrol and attend classes for fire/EMS certifications if they are needed. Once firefighter and EMT-Basic certifications are obtained and there is an opening on a 24/48-hour shift, night shift Public Safety Officers will transition to a 24/48-hour shift schedule. Career advancement opportunities include Investigator, School Resource Officer, Drug Task Force, SWAT, K9, Mobile Field Force, and instructor or supervisory positions.

Responsibilities:
As a public safety officer you will maintain certifications in police, EMS (EMT-basic or paramedic) and fire fighter 1 and work 24- or 48-hour shifts, with an 8-hour police patrol shift per 24-hour block. As a police officer you will respond to police calls for service, solving problems and making arrests and documenting your encounters in appropriate reports. As an EMT/Paramedic, you will respond on an ALS ambulance to EMS calls and transport patients to 4 area hospitals including two level II trauma centers. As a firefighter, you will respond to various calls ranging from car crashes, fires and alarms.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
If you have at least 1 year of full-time police, fire, EMS or corrections experience, you may qualify for accelerated pay upon completion of FTO, and accelerated vacation upon completion of probation. 1 year - $71,614 2 years - $76,137 3 years - $80,660 4 years - $85,183 5 years - $89,517 6 years - $94,229
