Responsibilities:
The New Glarus Police Department is seeking a community-minded individual to fill an immediate Police Officer vacancy. Responsibilities include enforcing laws and ordinances, patrol duties, responding to calls for services, taking citizen complaints, resolving disputes, investigating crime, and protecting public safety. Officers work 10-hour work shift, which gives them more days off during their rotating schedule, which includes more weekends off.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
Experienced officers may start employment at a higher pay rate and with other advanced benefits, including prorated vacation time.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously

- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
