Position Responsibilities
Perform the duties of a sworn law enforcement officer as designated by the command staff under the direction of the elected Sheriff. Please see position posting for further.

Deputy Sheriff's Contract: Lateral Transfer Pay/Vacation Credit The Sheriff may determine that a particular appointment be made above the entrance pay rate, up to Step D, in recognition of relevant experience and/or exceptional qualifications. Qualifications
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- U.S. citizen
- Vision correctable to 20/20

Minimum of 40 college credits at time of hire, assuming you would earn 21 credits at the LE Academy. 60 college credits required if you do not need the LE Academy.
