The Monticello Police Department is accepting applications for full-time and part-time Police Officers to serve our small, community-oriented municipality. We are seeking dedicated, ethical, and community-focused professionals who are committed to providing high-quality law enforcement services. Preferred Qualifications include: Prior law enforcement experience, community policing experience, emergency vehicle operation, OWI enforcement, or investigations experience, and familiarity with small-community policing dynamics.
Work Schedule: Full-time: This is a unique opportunity for anyone seeking a flexible work/life balance. At this time, the candidate selected for full-time will be provided generous week to week scheduling flexibility. Part-time: Hours are flexible as well and may include weekends, nights, and holidays based on department needs. Part-time officers are expected to work at least 16hrs per month. Monticello Police Department may consider applicants who have not yet completed the pre-service recruit academy or have sixty college credits.

Responsibilities:
Monticello police officers perform general police functions including patrol, traffic enforcement, responding to calls for service, investigations, community engagement, crime prevention, and enforcement of local and state laws. Officers are expected to exercise sound judgment, maintain professionalism, and build positive relationships within the community.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously

- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record

- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
