Position Responsibilities

Besides Patrol work we are involved with a county-wide SWAT team, MEG unit, Investigations, ICAC Task Force, SRO Program, Public Safety Cadet program and opportunities for supervision.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

Lateral transfer candidates are streamlined through an accelerated hiring process. The Police and Fire Commission approves salary, vacation, and sick pay for lateral transfers.

  • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to perform essential functions of this position

  • Clear and concise speech
  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • Good driving record

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
  • U.S. citizen

  • Competitive Wages-$32.06-$39.62 hourly wage (3.25% increase in 2026)
  • No residency requirement.
  • Vacation is earned after 6 months.
