- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification

- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions

- The department is exploring the possibility of sponsoring select candidates to attend a Wisconsin Law Enforcement Academy. If implemented, sponsored recruits may receive a percentage of the patrol officer starting wage during the academy.
