The City of Saint Croix Falls is hiring a proactive and experienced law enforcement professional to serve as its next Chief of Police. This position combines day-to-day leadership with regular field duty, ideal for someone who values direct involvement and community presence. About the Department The department operates with: 7 full-time officers when fully staffed 1 School Resource Officer 1 K9 Handler 1 Patrol Sergeant Continuous 24/7 patrol coverage The Chief will be expected to contribute to this operational capacity while overseeing departmental performance and staff development. Primary Duties Conduct routine patrols and respond to calls alongside officers. Coordinate staffing, shift coverage, and ensure 24-hour readiness. Supervise personnel, evaluate performance, and support officer training. Manage administrative tasks, including budgeting and department planning. Maintain positive relationships with residents, schools, and public agencies. Ideal Background Wisconsin LESB certification. Prior supervisory experience in a policing environment. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to professionalism. Ability to balance frontline work with strategic oversight. Position Details Full-time role, standard 8-hour shifts with on-call flexibility. Directly accountable to the Mayor and City Council. Includes full municipal benefits and competitive salary.

  • Previous experience
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
  • Supervisory/Management Experience
  • U.S. citizen
