The City of Lodi Police Department is seeking a uniformed police sergeant dedicated to protecting and serving the citizens of the City of Lodi, WI. The police sergeant position functions as a working shift supervisor and provides services that include, but are not limited to, police patrol, traffic control and enforcement, accident investigation, crime prevention and investigation, response to citizen complaints and calls for assistance. Lodi Police have the opportunity to work UW Badger football games, county drug task force and emergency response assignments, as well as many community events.

Responsibilities:
Assumes command of uniformed personnel in the absence of the Chief of Police. Provides for operational supervision of subordinates. Performs patrol duties. Performs all duties as assigned by the Chief of Police. Reviews all reports, citations, and department documents to ensure that standards of the department are met. Assists with planning, organizing, staffing, directing, coordinating, training and critiquing detail, emergency assignments, and preventative procedures. Develops lines of communications with subordinates to ensure an awareness of activities and events affecting the operation. Coordination of work schedules of department. Attends meetings as required. Completes continuing education, and in-service training. Performs other duties as assigned.

- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification

Education Requirements:
Associate Degree or sixty college credits in police science or criminal justice upon hire.
Must be certified by the State of Wisconsin Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board in accordance with Sec. §165.85(4) of Wisconsin State Statutes.
Minimum of three years of satisfactory law enforcement experience, preferably in a municipal police department.
Certifications in Firearms, Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC), and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Possess a current driver’s license and be eligible for a Wisconsin driver’s license.
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
Knowledge of criminal law, local law, and civil rights.
No felony convictions unless pardoned.
