Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities

All Deputy Jailors are sworn and maintain protective status with paid WRS contributions. Employment begins in the jail division where your main responsibility will be maintaining security of the jail and inmate population housed within. Deputy Jailors also have numerous opportunities to become members of the many specialty units of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office within the Jail and Patrol Divisions.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

Applicants with prior jail/correctional experience may be compensated with pay and time off based upon prior jail/correctional experience and certifications already obtained.
