Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities

Police officers work independently with supervision and guidance from the Chief and Sergeant. Officers responds to calls for service and conduct high visibility, proactive patrols to enforce state and federal criminal laws and municipal ordinances. Officers conduct many of their own investigations. Officers usually work 10-hour shifts on evenings and weekends. Officers need to have a strong work ethic and be able to interact well with the community we serve.

Candidates with experience may start with enhanced wages and/or benefits and will be considered on a case-by-case basis depending on experience and qualifications.

  • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to perform essential functions of this position
  • Ability to possess a firearm
  • Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Clear and concise speech
  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • Good driving record
  • Good physical condition
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • Previous experience
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
  • U.S. citizen
  • Vision correctable to 20/20
