The Brown County Sheriff's Office is seeking honest and ethical employees to be Corrections Officer's for the 4th largest Sheriff's Office Jail in WI. Besides the work diversity offered in our 13 different pods (including a brand new 128 bed pod) we offer specialty units like CERT, UOF instructor, FTO, and honor guard. Upward mobility is also available with 160 Officers that include 20 corporals, 8 Lieutenants and a Captain! As of Jan 1 2026 the starting pay w/out experience is $29.68/Hr

Lateral Transfer Program Details:
Laterals in pay are considered on a case by case basis. Starting pay increases are common with prior experience and / or having the jail academy completed, 1 yr or greater at WI DOC or if you are eligible for out of state reciprocity.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- Vision correctable to 20/20
