Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to boat patrol on Upper and Lower Phantom Lakes and enforcing Ch. 30 boating laws during boating season. Further, officers patrol the frozen waters and snowmobile trails throughout the Town of Mukwonago and enforcing Ch. 23 ATV/UTV laws and Ch. 350 snowmobile laws in the winter.

  • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to perform essential functions of this position
  • Ability to possess a firearm
  • Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Clear and concise speech
  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • Good driving record
  • Good physical condition
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations

Other Qualifications
  • Candidates must possess WI DNR boating, ATV, and snowmobile safety certificates prior to working these patrols. Candidates without the safety certificates will be given the opportunity through the department to complete the classes if needed.
