City of Waterloo Police Department Patrol Officer Opening The City of Waterloo Police Department, located in the northwestern corner of Jefferson County, Wisconsin, proudly serves a community of approximately 3,500 residents. Waterloo is home to Trek Bicycle Corporation, Van Holten’s Pickles, and numerous small businesses. Each September, our community comes together to celebrate the annual Wiener and Kraut Festival, Fourth of July and Various other small City oriented festivals.
We are currently seeking qualified applicants for one (1) Patrol Officer position. Opportunities: Entry-Level Applicants: We are willing to sponsor a qualified candidate through the law enforcement academy. Lateral Transfer Applicants: Officers with full-time law enforcement experience are encouraged to apply for a lateral transfer opportunity. Responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the Chief of Police, the Police Officer works collaboratively with the public to prevent crime and provide effective law enforcement services to the community. The officer enforces the laws of the State of Wisconsin, Federal laws, the U.S. Constitution, and the ordinances of the City of Waterloo with fairness and integrity. This position involves patrolling the City of Waterloo to deter and detect criminal activity, ensure public safety, enforce traffic regulations, and maintain peace and order within the community.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
Sign on bonus of $5,000.00 A candidate with (1) year of full-time law enforcement experience would start at $30.73 an hour A candidate with (2) years of full-time law enforcement experience would start at 33.43 an hour Vacation time A candidate with (3) years of full-time law enforcement experience would start with (12) days of vacation, after one year of continuous service with the city. A candidate with (10) years of full-time law enforcement experience would start with (16) days of vacation, after one year of continuous service with the city.
