Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities

Performs a variety of routine and complex public safety work consisting of preventative patrol, community policing activities, criminal investigations, car crash investigations, enforcement of Federal and State Statutes, enforcement of Municipal Ordinances, first responder responsibilities, traffic control activities, provides emergency response to citizen requests and performs all other police functions within the City of Dodgeville

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

1) Job rate wages

2) Vacation time commensurate with the employee’s total full-time law enforcement employment

3) Accumulated sick leave credit commensurate with the employee’s total full-time law enforcement employment

  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Clear and concise speech
  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • Good driving record
  • Good physical condition
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
  • U.S. citizen
