Position Responsibilities

Monroe Police Officers are responsible to patrol the community, answer calls for service, conduct criminal investigations, conduct traffic enforcement, interview victims and witnesses and work with persons in crisis and need when called upon. Our agency has a community policing philosophy, using problem oriented policing guidelines. Monroe is a community of about 11,000 people, not directly adjacent to a larger community but near. There are great schools and is a desirable place to live and work. Applicants with Spanish skills are encouraged to apply. No residency requirement.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

Officers with full time experience of 1 year can start at the one year rate, with 2 yrs/start at 2 yr rate, 3 yrs/3 yr rate, 4 yrs/4 yr rate, 5+ years/start at 5 yr rate. Wages only affected, no seniority. No residency requirement.
