Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities

This job has the day-to-day operational command over all personnel both subordinate and supervisory, and is responsible for the efficient and effective accomplishment of the following functions: Staff training and development; Department property management; Criminal investigations; Crime scene and evidence management; Internal Affairs Investigations, to include officer misconduct; Criminal identification; Intelligence and criminal analysis; Special investigations; Court services; Youth services; Police school/liaison, and other responsibilities as may be outlined in greater detail in other written directives.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

Years of supervisory experience to be considered for determination of starting salary. Qualified lateral transfers may also receive vacation and sick leave credit, depending on years of service.

  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Clear and concise speech
  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • Good driving record
  • Good physical condition
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • Previous experience
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations

Education Requirements:

Education Requirements
High school diploma
60 college credits / Associate's degree
Additional Education Information
Associate Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
