A police officer performs a wide variety of duties connected with general work including investigation, general enforcement of laws and ordinances in the City of Superior and providing other various types of assistance to include advancing the mission of the Superior Police Department.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

A Lateral Transfer Police Officer must have one year of full-time law enforcement experience and be eligible to become a Certified Wisconsin Law Enforcement Officer prior to hire. Upon hire, a Lateral Transfer Police Officer will be credited with their years of full-time law enforcement for the purposes of wage placement, vacation accrual and minimum experience for Detective application. The Lateral Transfer Police Officer must successfully complete 14 weeks of on-the-job field training, in addition to passing a 12-month probationary period.
