Responsibilities:
This is not a traditional campus police force, as our responsibilities extend in the neighborhoods that make up the near west side of Milwaukee. We’re always looking for highly talented individuals to join our team – people who think big, care deeply, and believe in being the difference in their work and community. Potential opportunities within the department include Investigations Division, Crime Scene Technician, Community Service Unit, Behavioral Health Unit, Bicycle Unit, and a multi-jurisdictional investigative unit.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
Full-time Officers currently certified with the State of Wisconsin will qualify for lateral transfers. Officers meeting this criteria, will enter the MUPD wage scale (5 steps over 4 years) congruent with their overall years of service. Lateral transfer officers’ seniority date will be their MUPD start date. Potential for an abbreviated field training program based on their level of experience, job performance and familiarity with Milwaukee.
