Position Responsibilities

Under the general direction of a designated Supervisor, the dispatcher is responsible for receiving and dispatching emergency, non-emergency and administrative communication with public safety organizations and private citizens during an assigned shift by means of radio, telephone, computers and other equipment.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

This position is also eligible for lateral transfer. Years of service working in law enforcement as a sworn officer will laterally transfer as if the applicant worked those years for the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office. Hourly wage and vacation balance will be determined based on the applicant’s current years of service, and employees transferring with three or more years of service will start with an additional sick/family leave balance.
