The department is a full service, 24-hour police agency, which embraces community oriented policing and neighborhood problem-solving.

Responsibilities:
Preventative patrol, traffic enforcement, emergency and non-emergency calls for service, and investigations concerning criminal matters. Specialized functions within the department include, but are not limited to, the K9 unit, drone program, bike patrol (including eBikes), firearms instructor, evidence technician, detective, emergency vehicle operations instructor, defense and arrest tactics instructor, field training officer, community service officer, and crowd control team.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
$4,500 bonus for lateral recruitments hired in 2024! Accelerated hiring process! Competitive salary and benefits package - Chief shall have the discretion to start a newly hired employee at any step commensurate with the officer's prior experience: one (1) year of seniority, three (3) years of seniority, five (5) years of seniority, and seven (7) years of seniority. Qualified lateral transfers will also receive up to two weeks sick leave, dependent upon years of experience.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously

- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification

Education Requirements:
Ninety-six (96) credits or more earned at an accredited institute of higher learning for which such credits shall be accepted toward a college degree, shall cause the employee to receive incentive pay on their base rate at six percent (6%).
Upon receiving a BA/BS degree, the employee will receive incentive pay on their base rate at eight percent (8%).
Upon receiving a graduate degree, the employee will receive incentive pay on their base rate at ten percent (10%).
