Reason for Announcement:
Responsibilities:
monitor, supervise, and evaluate activities of sworn and civilian employees to ensure the delivery of high quality police services; administer the assignment of personnel and work duties in patrol operations; enhance organizational effectiveness by empowering and leading personnel and encouraging career advancement; assist with development of department goals and objectives; command critical incidents; and other duties as assigned. Work is performed under general supervision of the Field Operations Division Commander.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
New employees may be granted a starting wage up to Step 10 of the wage scale, equivalent to the start of year ten of employment with the Town. New employees may be granted vacation benefits equal to one week upon hire and eligibility for up to a third week based upon the credited years of service used to establish the starting wage; New employees may be advanced up to 300 hours of sick leave, with the understanding that no further sick leave will accrue until the month of employment that follows the month in which the same number of sick hours would have accrued naturally. These benefits will be determined on a case by case basis.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
