The Walworth County Sheriff's Office is looking for candidates like you to join our dedicated team of law enforcement professionals that pledge to preserve and enhance the quality of life within the community through efficient, effective, and professional law enforcement services. Although it is beneficial for us to hire candidates with prior law enforcement experience, we are always willing to hire good candidates entering the field and put them through Wisconsin Law Enforcement Academy.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
Candidates with prior law enforcement experience are eligible to be placed at an hourly pay rate equal to or higher than that paid by their previous employer up to our current maximum pay. With 5 or more years of prior law enforcement experience, a candidate is eligible to receive 40 hours of vacation upon hire, with higher annual accrual rates based on their prior years of service.

Qualifications:
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Driver's license
- Good driving record
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- No felony convictions
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- U.S. citizen
- Must reside in the state of Wisconsin and within Walworth County, or the contiguous counties of Rock, Jefferson,Waukesha, Racine, or Kenosha upon completion of probationary period and must maintain residence therin so long as employed.
