Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities

Will perform functions to ensure the security and safety of the jail and the welfare of prisoners including taking custody of prisoners, overseeing the behavior of prisoners, submitting required reports, escorting prisoners as required and processing prisoners for court appearances and release.

  • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to perform essential functions of this position
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Good physical condition
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations

  • Ability to meet requirements and become Wisconsin Corrections Certified within first year of employment.
  • High school graduate, HSED or GED.
  • Hire requirements include successful completion of physical agility test; psychological test, post-offer.
