Reason for Announcement:
Responsibilities:
Performs the duties of a sworn law enforcement officer as designated by the command staff under the direction of the elected Sheriff. This is responsible work enforcing laws and ordinances, providing detention and courtroom services, patrol and guard duty and related supportive law enforcement activities in the Sheriff's Office. Work involves prevention, detection and investigation of accident and criminal activities, security and safety or inmates/prisoners, protection for the public and maintaining law and order. Deputies must be able to act without direct supervision in emergency situations.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- U.S. citizen
- Vision correctable to 20/20
