Responsibilities:
***Lateral Transfer Only Recruitment*** The Police Officer position is responsible for answering calls for service, traffic enforcement, addressing criminal behavior and quality of life issues, and proactive patrol in the Village. We are a community driven Department that emphasizes officers engaging and participating in Community Outreach Programs. Specialty assignments include School Resource Officer, Community Resource Officer, K9 Unit, Peer Support, Training Instructors, and Drone Team.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
***This is a lateral transfer only hiring process.*** You must be currently employed in a law enforcement agency and in good standing to apply for this position. Initial compensation and vacation may be at a higher step, but shall not exceed the applicant's actual years of full-time law enforcement employment. Lateral transfer candidates may be allowed up to 400 hours of sick leave to be transferred from their previous department. Candidates with more than 36 months of continuous law enforcement services may also be eligible for the educational incentive program (3% - Associates Degree, 5% - Bachelor's Degree, 7% - Master's Degree). The Police Department expects a vacancy to happen in October 2026 and a second vacancy in January 2027.

- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
