Come work for the only full-service Public Safety Department in the State of Wisconsin. We are creating an eligibility list for current and future vacancies for Public Safety Officer, with training provided. As a PSO, you will perform duties of a police officer, firefighter and EMT on a 24/48 hour shift. Your work schedule will alternate between 24/48 hours on, 72 hours off, with 8 hours of police coverage and 16 hours of fire/EMS during your shift. New employees will work a night shift ‘police only’ patrol until fire/EMS certifications are obtained and there is an opening on a 24 hour shift. Job specialties include DARE, SWAT, fire and police instructors, fire inspection, school resource officer, investigations, CIT and mental health, peer support, drug task force, paramedic, mobile field force and K9 to name a few. No experience is necessary, we will train the right candidate in all three facets of the job.

Responsibilities:
As a public safety officer, you will work as a sworn police officer enforcing state law and local ordinances. You will also be state certified as an EMT-Basic and firefighter, responding to EMS calls on an ALS ambulance or for fire calls on a fire engine or ladder truck.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
Those with 1 year of full time police, fire, EMS or corrections experience would qualify for our lateral incentive program. This will accelerate pay upon completion of field training up to the maximum pay you would qualify for based on EMS licensure (6 years of experience). Vacation is also accelerated based on total years of service and is obtained upon completion of the probationary period.
