A Village of Redgranite Police Officer responsibilities are the protection of life and property by maintaining peace and order through the enforcement of federal, state and local laws. Officers must also be responsive to community needs, identify and deal with social problems and be responsive to social controls. The uniformed police officer is the most visible and most encountered representative of local government. As such, a police officer must set exemplary examples of professionalism and hold honesty, truth, honor paramount in their ideals by leading an unsullied life.

Responsibilities:
● Investigation Management: Conduct comprehensive investigations and structural follow-ups on criminal and administrative complaints forwarded by the Chief of Police.
● Institutional Jurisdiction: Investigate criminal incidents, contraband introduction, and policy violations occurring within the Redgranite Correctional Institution (RGCI), maintaining strict coordination with WI DOC institutional investigators and security staff.
● Jurisdictional Complaints: Process, document, and resolve citizens' complaints and criminal reports filed directly within municipal jurisdiction.
● Multi-Agency & Narcotics Operations: Collaborate on joint operations with local, county, and state law enforcement agencies; actively participate in target identification, evidence sharing, and search warrant executions alongside the Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force.
● Patrol Integration & Tactical Support: Provide immediate backup and tactical assistance to patrol officers responding to high-priority calls for service, crises, or active incidents.
● Evidence & Chain of Custody: Oversee the meticulous collection, logging, storage, and processing of all physical, forensic, and digital evidence to guarantee legal chain-of-custody integrity for prosecution.
● Operational Adaptability: Fulfill scheduled and emergency patrol shifts to maintain community visibility, enforce traffic laws, and ensure public safety.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
Lateral transfers based on experience. Officers may receive credit for prior service including starting wage consideration and PTO accrual.

- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- Previous experience
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- Supervisory/Management Experience
- U.S. citizen
- Vision correctable to 20/20
