The Linden Police Department is seeking qualified individuals who are motivated and committed to professional, community-oriented policing in a rural community of approximately 504 residents. Our Police Officers work closely with community members to build relationships, solve problems, and protect the public through a proactive and service-driven approach. The department is comprised of part-time sworn law enforcement. Including the Chief of Police, Investigator, & Police Officers. Responsibilities:
Responds to routine and emergency calls for service, taking appropriate enforcement and investigative action consistent with applicable laws, department policy, and training, while maintaining a strong commitment to community-oriented policing. Enforces criminal, traffic, and ordinance violations, including the lawful use of arrest, search, seizure, and force, with an emphasis on fairness, professionalism, and respect. Proactively identifies and addresses community safety concerns through observation, engagement, and preventative measures. Conducts thorough investigations, prepares accurate and detailed reports, and provides credible testimony in court or hearings. Adheres to department policies and lawful directives while building and maintaining positive, professional relationships with colleagues, partner agencies, and the community. Performs other duties as assigned in support of the department’s mission and service to the community. ***Police Officers work Traffic Safety Task Force Grant Shifts & Badger Football Games***

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- Previous experience
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- U.S. citizen
- Vision correctable to 20/20
- Minimum Age:
Minimum Age21
- Certified State of WI: Emergency Medical Responder, Emergency Medical Technician (Basic or Advanced) & Firefighter I & II
