Come work for the only full-service Public Safety Department in the State of Wisconsin. We are creating an eligibility list for current and future vacancies for Public Safety Officer, with training provided. As a PSO, you will perform duties of a police officer, firefighter and EMT on a 24/48 hour shift. Your work schedule will alternate between 24/48 hours on, 72 hours off, with 8 hours of police coverage and 16 hours of fire/EMS during your shift. New employees will work a 6-3 night shift police only patrol until fire/EMS certifications are obtained and there is an opening on a 24 hour shift. Job specialties include DARE, SWAT, fire and police instructors, fire inspection, school resource officer, investigations, drug task force, paramedic, mobile field force and K9 to name a few.

Responsibilities:
Obtain and maintain certifications and function in multiple disciplines to include WI law enforcement, EMS (WI EMT-Basic level at a minimum, paramedic preferred) and fire (WI Fire Fighter I). Schooling for these certifications will be provided if the candidate does not have them.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
1 year or more of full time police, fire, EMS or corrections experience will qualify for lateral transfer, and accelerate pay upon completion of Field Training, and vacation upon completion of an 18 month probationary period. You would reach full pay (dependent upon fire/EMS certifications) with 6 years or more of full time experience.
