The Markesan Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for a part time officer position. We are looking for a community minded officer that is ready to put forward a community policing approach in the Grand Community of Markesan. Whether you have recently completed your law enforcement training or you are a seasoned officer looking for a change, the Markesan Police Department might be jus the place for you! Markesan is just 15 minutes from Ripon or Waupun and about an hour from the Fox Valley area is an awesome, place to work, play and live! Responsibilities:
Perform police patrol duties, respond to calls for service, assist public, enforce traffic laws, investigate traffic crashes, conduct investigations, enforce state, and local laws, testify in court proceedings, prepare written reports and other documents as required.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position

- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- U.S. citizen
