A Village of Redgranite Police Officer responsibilities are the protection of life and property by maintaining peace and order through the enforcement of federal, state and local laws. Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities are investigating criminal complaints, assigned by the chief, assisting patrol officers, evidence storage and management, conducting criminal investigations at Redgranite Correctional Institution, drug investigations, assist county / regional drug task force. Some patrol shifts possible. Follow directives / policies set forth by the chief and police committee.

Qualifications:

Qualifications
  • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to perform essential functions of this position
  • Ability to possess a firearm
  • Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Clear and concise speech
  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • Good driving record
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • Previous experience
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
  • Supervisory/Management Experience
  • U.S. citizen
  • Vision correctable to 20/20

Education Requirements:

Education Requirements
High school diploma
60 college credits / Associate's degree
Additional Education Information
At least (5) prior years of investigation experience in law enforcement
