The Fontana Police Department is seeking a highly motivated, public orientated individual to serve as our Community Service Officer (CSO) for the 2026 summer season. The CSO performs various non-sworn duties including parking enforcement, traffic control, booking, squad maintenance, general office duties, etc. This position can be combined with school internships. The CSO position is seasonal and generally operates from May-September. This position requires 30-40 hours of work per week. Weekends and holidays are required. Pay is $15.00-$19.00 per hour depending on qualifications.

  • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to perform essential functions of this position
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Clear and concise speech
  • Driver's license
  • Good driving record
  • Good physical condition
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • U.S. citizen
