Position Responsibilities

The Village of Clinton Police Department is accepting applications to fill a full time Patrol Officer position. This entry level, sworn position is responsible for the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances. Work involves patrolling the Village, responding to criminal complaints, suspicious activity, traffic enforcement, investigating crimes, gathering evidence, apprehending violators, problem solving, protecting victims and property, responding to emergency situations, completing appropriate paperwork and other related duties as required.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

Employees who have full-time certified sworn law enforcement experience within the past 12 months will be placed at the pay step reflecting 3rd year officer pay.

  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification

  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions

  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
