-Provide a full range of law enforcement services including enforcing laws, investigating complaints, maintaining order, assisting people, identifying criminal activity, and apprehending offenders when necessary.

-Actively engage with students, employees, and visitors to build relationships that foster trust and develop a shared responsibility for campus safety.

-Partner with the community to identify the root causes of concerns and work toward sustainable solutions that enhance safety and wellbeing.

-Analyze data and trends to support crime prevention efforts.

-Conduct complex investigations, collect and process evidence, prepare thorough written reports, and testify in proceedings when required.

-Maintain proficiency in the safe use of police equipment, defensive and arrest tactics, and firearms in compliance with state law and department policy.

-Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies, University departments, mental health providers, and human service agencies to provide coordinated responses.

-Support special details such as crowd management, special event security, and dignitary protection.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

*Applicants with previous certified sworn law enforcement experience may qualify for lateral transfer, progressing to the pay step that coincides with 75% of their recognized experience.

  • Ability to perform essential functions of this position
  • Ability to possess a firearm
  • Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Driver's license
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • No felony convictions
  • U.S. citizen
